Today, we want to share with you the experience of our latest shoot for our faux fur accessories . Organizing such an event requires careful planning and attention to detail, but the results can be incredibly rewarding. This preparation saves time and allows you to be efficient on the day. We take you behind the scenes of our latest shoot , revealing the key steps taken to create captivating images that are in line with the DNA of Maison Prélonge .
Step 1: Define our vision.
First, we started by clearly defining our vision and goals for the shoot . Did we want to showcase new products ? Highlight specific pieces? Create content for our website and social media? Or maybe all 3 at once. With a clear vision in mind, we were able to shape every aspect of the shoot , from concept to location selection.
Step 2: Create our visual concept
The visual concept is the central element that guides the entire staging of a shooting .
We spent time creating one that reflected our brand and the essence of our home decor accessories . We explored different moods , colors , and styles to find the one that best fit our vision. By creating an inspiration moodboard , we were able to visualize our concept and know in which direction we wanted to go.
Step 3: Find the perfect location
Choosing the right location is important to create the mood you want in your images. We had to find a place that would fit our ideas. Whether it’s a lush garden for a natural feel or a photo studio for a more controlled environment, choosing the right location is crucial to the success of your shoot . By brainstorming different locations and evaluating their logistical possibilities, we were able to find the perfect setting to bring our vision to life. Indeed, we were lucky enough to shoot our photos in an elegant Parisian apartment redecorated by architect Hava Castro . We couldn’t have dreamed of a better place to capture our images!
Step 4: Prepare our accessories and decorations
Before the day of the shoot , we took care to meticulously prepare our props and sets . We had them brought from our warehouse or had them directly made by our workshop . We then organized them by category or theme , thus facilitating the process during the shoot . We also considered additional elements such as flowers , candles or staging elements to add a touch of authenticity to our images. Remember to make sure that each product is in perfect condition and ready to be photographed.
Step 5: Create a brief for the shooting
The brief is an important step when preparing a shoot . We made sure to create a detailed brief for the photographer , including several key elements to ensure a clear understanding of our vision and expectations.
First, we introduced our brand , highlighting its identity and values . Then, we explained the objectives we wanted to achieve with the shooting . Whether it was highlighting a new collection , highlighting particular aspects of our accessories or creating content for our online platforms , it was essential to clearly communicate our intentions.
To make it easier to understand our visual concept , we provided a mood board including inspiration images , aesthetic references and key visual elements. This helped visualize our concept and create a common visual base between our brand and the photographer .
We also took care to include important technical details, such as image dimensions and formats, as well as any photo editing requirements, to ensure consistency in the delivery of the final images . Finally, we established a precise schedule for the shoot , indicating the date, time, location and expected duration.
By providing a clear and comprehensive brief , you ensure that the photographer will understand your vision and can collaborate effectively to create images that will showcase your products.
Step 6: Hire a professional photographer
To achieve high-quality results, it is recommended to hire a professional photographer . Check out their portfolio and ask for references to ensure their experience and expertise. We were lucky enough to work with photographer Lili in Wonderland whose photographic style perfectly matched our vision. We shared our vision and visual concept with her, providing her with our brief established in advance.
Good communication and close collaboration allowed us to obtain images that perfectly matched our expectations and our brand identity.
Step 7: Organize the staging
On the day of the shoot , we brought our ideas to life by carefully organizing the staging . Following our mood board and working with the photographer , we arranged our props and sets in a harmonious way. We experimented with different compositions and shooting angles to capture a variety of images .
Make sure that the staging faithfully reflects the visual concept that you have previously defined.
Step 8: Capture the images
Once the staging was ready, we made sure throughout the shoot that every detail was highlighted. Adjustments were made based on shooting angles, camera settings and compositions to achieve varied and attractive images .
We took the time to check each photo as we went along to make sure they matched our vision . Indeed, there are sometimes details that we don't see with the naked eye but that jump out at us once captured on screen! So remember to check each shot carefully. 😉
Once the shooting was finished, we couldn't wait to receive the photos from the photographer to see the final result!
