Welcome to the sixth installment of our series, where we highlight inspiring interior designers from our network. This month, we had the pleasure of speaking with Émilie Péchadre, founder of EP Interior Design – Interior Design and Architecture Studio in Atlanta, US. Join us as we see how Émilie is bringing French style to Atlanta.

Can you introduce yourself? What is your background?

My name is Émilie Péchadre, an interior designer based in Atlanta (USA).
After ten years as a consultant in a consulting firm in Paris, I followed my passion and obtained a certificate in interior design from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).

An opportunity to move with my family to Atlanta presented itself. After successfully running my interior design agency in Paris, I founded EP Interior Design in Atlanta: an interior architecture and decoration agency. I carry out renovation projects for individuals as well as interior designs for commercial spaces: boutiques, restaurants, cafes, wellness areas. I also offer E-design services to my clients in France.

How would you define your style? What inspires you?

My approach to design is inspired by my family’s heritage of craftsmanship and my love of timeless styles. Through an early immersion in antiques, textiles and traditional craftsmanship, combined with a solid design background, I create spaces that respect tradition while incorporating contemporary elements. I love to combine classic elegance with unique and personal touches, to create refined interiors full of character and history.

Among all your projects, is there one that particularly marked you, of which you are most proud?

My first project was the complete renovation of a Haussmannian apartment located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. This magnificent property, which had remained in its original state, had recently been acquired by a young couple who wanted to breathe new life into it. The goal was to preserve the charm of the old while respecting the Haussmannian codes: moldings, Hungarian-point parquet flooring, fireplace, while bringing it modernity and functionality. I completely redesigned the layout, decoration and furnishings of this superb Parisian apartment. This project was particularly rewarding and enriching in every way. What still touches me today is that my clients still live there and feel perfectly at home there. Since then, their family has grown, and they recently contacted me to provide them with additional storage solutions.

What faux fur products from Maison Prélonge caught your attention as an interior designer?

When I discovered Maison Prelonge a few years ago at the Atlanta Market show, I immediately appreciated the quality of the house's products and the know-how. I love Maison Prelonge plaids, so soft, comfortable and elegant. Recently the collaboration with Little Cabari enchanted me. The mix of faux fur and patterns is so elegant.

Can you explain how Maison Prélonge faux fur was incorporated into one of your recent projects?

I just offered one of my clients the Maison Prelonge plaid and cushions for the bed in the "Master Bedroom" of this "Mountain House" located north of Atlanta. This set will perfectly finish the decoration of this room.

Do you have a decorating tip that our customers can easily reproduce at home using Maison Prélonge products?

Placing a blanket at the end of the bed and coordinating the cushions immediately makes a bed elegant and warm. It brings texture and character to the room even more if the blanket is reversible.

What drives you in the creation of your projects?

It depends…. I like to start with a piece that is close to my clients’ hearts, like this vintage rug that my clients want to keep. To decorate the guest room, I designed and imagined the decoration of the room around this magnificent rug.

Every new project begins with a research phase. This phase is my favorite!! I imagine, draw, coordinate, assemble samples, play with materials, fabrics, colors to create the atmosphere of each room. Decoration, painting and art history books…. Are my very first inspiration.

Future projects in sight…?

I just completed a major project including a spa, boutique and five-suite boutique hotel in North Atlanta near Lake Lanier.

I am starting a project in France: the renovation and furnishing of a house in Villeneuve les Sablons in the Oise. This house is so charming with real potential.

The design phase has just started, it's super exciting!!! Work will start in January 2025.
