Welcome to the fifth installment of our series of articles, where we highlight inspiring interior designers from our network. This month, we had the pleasure of speaking with Hava Castro, an interior designer whose journey and inspirations enchant us. She shares with us her experience, her projects and her love for decoration.
Can you introduce yourself? What is your background?
My name is Hava Castro and I am an interior designer. After working for ten years in cosmetics and the luxury industry, I decided to dedicate myself fully to my lifelong passions: architecture and decoration. These two worlds, although distinct, share common values that drive me every day. Among them, customization is undoubtedly the most important for me, in order to respond precisely to the needs of my clients. My experience in luxury has taught me the importance of attention to detail and tailor-made service. Each project is an opportunity to create a space that reflects the aspirations and lifestyle of my clients, while combining functionality and aesthetics.
How would you define your style? What inspires you?
My style is characterized by warm and elegant atmospheres. I like to design authentic and personal universes, harmonizing materials, codes and colors. My inspiration often comes from nature, travel and encounters, which allows me to create unique spaces that reflect the personality of my clients. For example, I particularly appreciate natural materials such as wood, stone and linen, which bring a touch of warmth and authenticity. Colors, whether neutral and soothing or bright and bold, also play a key role in my creations.
Among all your projects, is there one that particularly left its mark on you, that you are most proud of?
A project that is particularly close to my heart is the renovation and decoration of our haven of peace in Normandy. This recent project, of which I will share the photos soon, is inspired by the English cottage style. I combined floral patterns and warm tones on the wallpapers and furniture. I love spending time rummaging through flea markets in the region, which allowed me to unearth authentic nuggets that bring a real soul to our interior. Each element was carefully chosen to tell a story and create a welcoming and intimate atmosphere.
What faux fur products from Maison Prélonge caught your attention as an interior designer?
I am particularly seduced by the collaboration with Little Cabari. This mix of universes, combining the sophistication of Maison Prélonge and the dreaminess of Little Cabari, is simply magnificent. The faux fur products in this collection bring a unique and refined touch to an interior. The cushions decorated with delicate designs and the soft plaids are perfect for adding a touch of charm and fantasy to a child's room for example.
Can you explain how Maison Prélonge faux fur was incorporated into one of your recent projects?
Faux fur cushions from Maison Prélonge found their place in the decoration of a recently renovated chalet in the mountains. Their softness and elegance added a dimension of comfort and luxury to the space, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The neutral tones and rich textures of the faux fur products blend perfectly with the natural materials such as the wood present in the chalet. This creates a visual harmony while adding an extra touch of warmth, essential in a mountain setting.
Do you have a decorating tip that our customers can easily reproduce at home using Maison Prélonge products?
To bring warmth to your interior, don't hesitate to play with accessories. Cushions , throws and other faux fur elements are perfect for creating a cozy atmosphere. They are easy to integrate and instantly transform the atmosphere of a room. For example, placing a few faux fur cushions on a sofa can add a touch of discreet luxury. Similarly, a faux fur throw on the end of a bed can transform a room into a real cocoon of well-being. The trick is to mix textures and colors to create a harmonious atmosphere.
What drives you in the creation of your projects?
Each project is a renewal, a new story to write, and it is this singularity that pleases me every time. Taking inspiration from my clients, from their personality, allows me to pull the thread of a new story and create a universe that perfectly suits them. This human and creative dimension is what excites me most about my job. Seeing my clients' faces light up when they discover their new space is a constant source of motivation. Each project is a unique adventure, and I love the transformation process, from the initial idea to the final realization. Creating spaces where my clients really feel at home, where every detail has meaning and a place, is what motivates me and makes me want to push the limits of creativity.
